Playin with Tape
So I got the brainstorm to re-paint my room. (it's only been what, 5+ years since I've done that) And Miss Jenna gave me the bright idea of putting a white stripe halfway up the wall. One color is goin to go above the stripe and a different one below the stripe. :) Yes Im purposely bein vague so I guess you'll just have to wait for the finished product pic yea? haha

Cleaning = smiles?
I was cleaning out my desk tonite and found some birthday cards from 2007, when I still lived up north. They made me smile and laugh so I thought 'what a great pic for the day.' While I was snapping some shots, I noticed Miss Meka sleeping in the background which caused an even bigger smile! Who knew cleaning could make you smile?

Hockey History in the Making
Tonite I had center Ice tickets for the Ducks game. Not only did the Ducks play and win a great game, Selanne (#8) scored his 600th career NHL goal!!! I LOVE that I was able to see hockey history in the making. :) The Pond (aka Honda Center) was so loud after his goal that you had to shout if you wanted your neighbor to hear you talk. haha I will def never forget this game against Colorado Avalanche. (in case you were wondering Black and orange are Ducks colors...)

Freaky Friday
So the choir from my mom's college came to a church in whittier to do a mini-concert. We both love choir music so decided it would be worth the drive to see them. The concert was @ 7 so we left at 6, thinking that would be plenty of time to make it there to get a seat before it started. Well I was super grumpy for no apparent reason today and needed some Starbucks so we stopped at one on the way....it took a while cuz apparently our drink orders confused the girl making the drinks. What should have been a 5 min detour turned into more like 10. o well, my white choc mocha was a necessity. So then we are driving west right into the sun and miss Beach blvd. Turning around from that mistake took another 10 minutes. We are 1 turn away from our destination (a church in Whittier) on Colima Rd and traffic stops. Literally. We later found out we were 3 lights away from our last turn and we sat at the first light for 20 minutes. We thought there might be an accident up ahead and sure enough, toward the end of the 20 minutes a cop drives up the wrong side of the road. The line of cars moves 1 or 2 car lengths and then stops again. We called my dad and he said that if we could make it to the next light, he could get us to the church. So I illegally drove up the Bike lane to make the turn. THEN when we are sitting at the last stop sign and can actually see the church and the parking lot, we encounter another cop directing traffic either back the way we came or away from the church. We pull up to her and she wants to know where we are trying to get to and I point at the church and say "right there!" so she waved us through. Whew. An hour and half later, we only missed the first 3 songs of the concert and the rest of it was AMAZING!! :) Im sooo glad we stuck out the traffic and didnt turn around to come back home! So today's pic is my view from the drivers seat of the line of traffic we sat it. lol

History Seldom Contemplated
I went to the Circle today with my mom and sister for lunch. We managed to snag a table outside. I was facing the street, so to speak, and as lunch went on, I was noticing how many people were out and about, walking and driving around the circle. It got me to wondering, how many of them stop to think about how old some of the buildings on the Circle are? Do they ever wonder about the history the buildings have seen? I sometimes take for granted the beautiful architecture that can be seen around the Circle and have resolved to 'notice' them more when I spend time on foot or driving through the Orange Circle.
